Responsibilities:
Responsible for development of new rubber compounds and improvement to existing compounds in a large volume job shop environment. Work with sales engineering and customers to develop formulations that meet customer requirements in a cost effective manner. Provide technical direction in areas of mixing, molding and extruding. Stay current on new developments in raw materials. Work with purchasing to evaluate cost improvement opportunities. Participate in and generate ideas for continuous improvement projects. Assure conformance to ISO17025 and TS16949 quality standards.
Requirements:
All candidates are required to have the following qualifications:
• Degree in Chemistry, Rubber Engineering Technology or Polymer Science
• Self motivated to seek continuous improvements and investigate new ideas, methods and materials.
• Able to create and update Excel spreadsheets for data collection and recordkeeping
• Good communication and people skills
• Highly organized and able to manage development projects
